Lighthouse Island Academy Holds 2nd Annual Graduation

On Friday, May 26, 2017, Lighthouse Island Academy, a private academic school located in Tionesta, PA, celebrated its second annual high school graduation in a ceremony attended by administrators, teachers, mentors, students, family, and friends of the graduates.

Debra and Michael Cummings, owners of Lighthouse Island Academy (a division of Taylor Diversion Programs), offered a warm welcome to the attendees, sharing stories of the beginnings of Taylor Diversion Programs and Lighthouse Island Academy, as well as honoring the graduates for their successful accomplishments. Mr. Jack Sherman, Allegheny Development Company President, offered a beautiful and heartfelt Keynote Address, followed by Mr. Bernie Pular, Tionesta resident and honored veteran, who served as guest speaker. Both gentlemen shared anecdotes, advice and guidance to our graduates, congratulating them on their education success. Of special recognition was speaker Ms. Joni Schettler, Lighthouse Island Academy English Teacher. Joni had been asked by students to address the graduating class and she offered an excellent message to all students enrolled in the academy. Anthony Bittinger, one of the graduates, thanked TDP and Lighthouse Island Academy personnel for assisting him in obtaining his diploma. Mr. Josh Shaw, TDP Supervisor, offered the invocation and benediction for the ceremony.
